Several years ago, I began something of a movement on Facebook and Instagram with the same name as my blog….Change One Soul. The purpose is to uplift as many people as possible through kindness, compassion and understanding. My theory is that we can all make a difference if we just begin practicing these traits with one soul at a time.
As of now, I find or create quotes that are positive and/or encouraging in nature and post them. I realize that sounds very simple, and on the surface, it is, but I have a deeper way of looking at it. Every interaction with a post, be it a view, comment or share, is one person who took the time from their day to let me into their life for a moment and cared about the messages I have shared.
The thing I find interesting is the rare negative comment that people post. Someone asked me if it upsets me to read these comments on a page about positivity. The honest truth is, no. It actual makes me curious. I wonder about what happened in their lives that made them find my posts so offensive and why they cannot accept the positivity and kindness they represent. I also wonder why they don’t just leave the page and go about finding pages that share their beliefs instead of spending their time to actually make sure that I (and my like minded followers) know they disapprove. I don’t delete these comments unless they are offensive because we do have freedom of speech and it would just be me judging their opinion. I will be clear though. If their goal is to have some kind of negative effect, me and my 3,100+ followers will remain dedicated to our mission.
I will not let negative people change me, bully me or discourage me. After all, they are the ones who need my messages the most.
Much Love- Lisa
